When…I Consider

When I consider the meaning of life, I am flabbergasted

You spoke creation into existence and allowed your mind to imagine such vastness

How you created light out of void, emptiness, and darkness

How you formed man out of the dust, wrapped him in flesh, and breathed into him a living soul

How you created Eve with a mere rib from Adams’ side

When I consider how you restore the fallen, shed your blood in the face of evil and corruption, I am undone

How you bridged the gap of partition, set a table for outsiders and insiders, redeeming both Israelites and Gentiles

When I consider how your love is not written on stones but upon the deepest parts of our heart

I am confounded, because your love makes alive, your love covers, and continues to prevail over all
